Working together

How I work with founders

I am one angel, not a fund. I run a company and I have a family. That is why this is short.

How to reach me

Use the founder intake form. It is private. I read every one. If someone I trust knows your work, they are welcome to introduce you.

What to send

Tell me what you need, why, and why I should care, in a few lines. Then tell me what you have already built and what the next physical step is. A deck is optional. I may not open links, so your written answers should stand on their own.

What I look for

Founders who are already doing the work. A prototype, a test, a customer, a lease, a hire. If the answer to "what are you doing about it?" is a plan with nothing done yet, it is probably too early for me.

What I pass on

Weightless software. Nostalgia. Doom. Slogans without a plant, a process, or a bill of materials.

How fast

You will get a short confirmation by email when your note arrives. If I want to look closer, you will hear from me within 10 business days. If you have not heard from me in 4 weeks, it is a no. If you think your note got lost, send it once more through the form. Once is enough.

How I decide

I read. I do the diligence. I write a check. Diligence happens mostly in writing. Answer my questions plainly and keep it short.

About advice

When you ask what I think, I will tell you. It is one operator's view. Use your own judgment.

Conflicts

Because of my day job and my portfolio, there are some companies I cannot back. If that is you, I will say so early.
